…is to be optimistic that the future will not be stressful.

Simplifying it…
The cure for procrastination is to simply be optimistic of the future.

(You wouldn’t be optimistic of the future if you think it’s going to be stressful.)

So always believe that things will work out in your favor.
Believe that the Universe is moving entire Continents to get you your thing.
Believe that you are the Hero of the story playing out in your life.

And make sure to believe these as well. Believe that:
Entropy be damned.
Odds be damned.
And Doomsayers be damned.

Once you become an Optimist, it becomes easy to move your ass and do your part in getting things rolling.

Afterthoughts

  • If you see someone getting things done, it means something good is going on with their lives, and it need not be in the here and now. It might just be in their head for now. They’re optimistic.
  • If you aren’t naturally optimistic, and prone to have a morose disposition that you can’t help, you can still hack yourself to be optimistic by simply repeating to yourself daily that you are an optimistic person. Repeat it a number of times daily. Either as self-talk, or by writing it down. Scott Adams suggests this.
