A 100 bodyweight squats before the first coffee
It takes some 4.5 minutes at the pace of one breath per rep in a single set,
assuming I have the cardio conditioning to do this.
Somedays I don’t. Takes an extra minute or two.
The idea isn’t “progressive overload”.
There’s no increasing reps or adding weights down the road.
And there’s no goal to build muscle or strength.
The goal is to simply do 100 squats as physiological hygiene,
kboges style.
Something done to keep a baseline fitness level.
But it also helps improve blood pressure.
Increases blood flow to brain and the body.
Gets me ready for the day sooner.
Why squats?
Because it’s the king of the exercises.
Why a hundred?
Doesn’t take much time.
But it’s also not quite quick. Try counting to hundred.
Why before the first coffee?
So the coffee tastes incredible.
